I ask myself where are they all? The old Roman army had thousands of soliers, many of them even had gold decorated helmets (that won't rust in gold!, so would be saved for all the centuries).
In wich museum is the biggest collection of that?

most of it was reforged and used with other conquering armies after the fall of rome.
rome didn't just fall in 5 minutes and have everyone just decide they weren't going to be a super power anymore....
many of the armies of rome were conquered in small pieces, and everytime a group of people were conquered, the conquering army would commonly take the good and supplies, sheilds, helmets, swords, food, sometimes clothes, anythign useful from the people they were conquering in battle. this was called booty often times. much of it was reused, and much of it reforged.
because there was no mass defection from rome all at once, it was not collected in one place. I believe there are random artifacts strewn in museums throughout the world. there is a museum in modern day rome which has a section about history of rome and I know they have some of the surviving pieces.

Actually there is a place on the Internet that specializes in ancient artifacts. You can buy things from as far back as 4,000 BC. They have such wonderful historical objects, not cheap but it would be cool to poses anything so ancient. Sorry, I don't have the address. You'll have to do some surfing. It's like a museum went out of business. I think that there is so much of these ancient artifacts, which have been collected for the past few hundred years, that it is finely available to the general public if you have the money.

Ok. shields were made mostly from wood and leather(as was the majority of ceremonial armor), so existing examples are rare and ones in museums are generally reproductions. Rust and decomposition has destroyed many other things(gold doesnt rust but neither does it protect material onto which it is embossed. If youre looking for a good exhibit, check out the arms and amory exhibit located in the Metropolitan Museum of Art( New York City). Its one of the largest exhibits in the world and has comparative examples of Roman, Medieval, Japanese, and modern arms and armor.

Mostly re-cycled. Most of the gold in use today was in circulation during the roman period. The British Museum in London has a decent collection. (Even crocodile skin armour!)
But the book, "Armour of Imperial rome" by H. Russell Robinson is considered the Bible for this subject!

From my personal point of view the weapons must have been recycled and transformed to more modern equipment such as parts of space crafts i.e electrical gadgets of electo-micro inducers and neon switchs of rockets. For weapons which where made of gold, i believe with the kind of purification processes which were in those ancient times the percentage of pure gold must have been very low relative to any mass and volume of any specific weapon. There for with advanced technological process of gold ore purification, a thousand tonnes of old roman gold weapons could just form one kilogram of high quality gold ore in our current world. With the kind of hardworking person you are I believe if you visit the website of "the congress library" of U.S.A you can get specific and special written materials which can widden your research on this issue.Success in your area of interest.

Lucretia-I dont like it by way of fact quicker or later, this grew to alter right into a ghetto call authentic up there with Shaniqua. Naevia- i like it. for my area i like the sound of the call Nevaeh however the heaven element is in simple terms too corny, and this could nicely be a competent selection. Ilithyia- fairly cool, its too undesirable it may be considered strange reason i think of its neat. Mira- it is in basic terms a stunning little fairly sound, and that i for my area think of it may make a stunning call. Sura-comparable as above, in spite of the undeniable fact that it doesnt roll off the tongue besides and that i dont like the Suri reference. Licinia- style of on the ghetto edge returned, i think of. final analysis, Mira and Naevia are literally very nicely.
