Today my teacher mentioned something that happened I guess 15-30 years ago where somebody held a lot of people hostage and it was in Waco, and she said it might be in the 80's, and she said that in order to get the people that were in hostage the CIA/ FBI/ SWAT or whoever was handling it had to first stop them from getting food, then they were worried that the hostages weren't getting any food, so they had to blast music and shine bright bright lights so the owners couldn't get sleep and would eventually go nuts after a long time without sleep... She couldn't remember what it was called or anything, and she said to just search up Waco and it might come up... But I couldn't find anything. Thanks in advance!

The siege your teacher mentioned took place at Mount Carmel Centre, outside Waco, Texas from February 28, 1993 - April 19, 1993. The siege came to an end when the ATF/FBI/Delta Force stormed the compound, burning it down and killing all of the occupants (yes, women and children were among them) on April 19th- now, why would they do that if there were "hostages" involved??

The "cultists blew themselves up" is an absolute lie, and a very shameful one at that!

No one was held hostage. The CIA and SWAT were not involved - the ATF, FBI, National Guard, and Delta Force were. As you can see by the answers above, it is not well-researched (the Wiki links confirm this) topic. But, this being the age of information - watch the two documentaries below, and tell your teacher, too. I do recommend getting a better understanding of the events that happened.

That was the Waco siege, the ones inside the siege were the Branch Davidians, a religious cult led by David Koresh. There were no hostages, but the cult did have a number of children with them, in addition to which they were heavily armed and well dug in, because they were expecting Doomsday.

The first police assault was thrown back, after which the siege set in, I don't recall how long it lasted. I think the charge was that the cultists were holding illegal firearms, something like that... I think it lasted a couple of months even, some of the children were released, but it ended with the cultists blowing themselves up, can't recall, I think about 90 or more died in the explosion, including the leader.

Your question quite contains a pretend assumption. Timothy McVeigh and David Koresh were infrequently Christians. David Koresh quite instructed people he replaced into G-d. What Christian believes that? Timothy McVeigh replaced right into a member of the Christian identity circulate that is extremely only a white supremacist circulate cloaked in Christian apparel. On yet another be conscious, a small chapel does exist on the Waco web site. If Muslims may have a floor 0 mosque then the dep. Davidians may have Waco. also, that's in dispute who replaced into contained in the incorrect at Waco. i imagine the authorities overstepped its bounds on countless events there.

David Koresh and his Branch Dravidian cult, 19 April 1993.

ATF decided to storm the cult's ranch near Waco,Texas. 54 adults (including Koresh) and 21 children, all cult members, were killed as a result.
