She appears to be alive, according to Wikipedia.



I also turned up an e-mail address for her on a post dated December 2012, so that would imply that she was alive and active pretty recently.



If this is for a school project or something, she might well be happy to hear from you. I won't post the address here though, since I don't have her permission or anything like that, but it wasn't hard to find.

She's not dead! She is retired, and continues to be an outspoken advocate for minority rights
