Question:
What do you believe happened to Amelia Earhart?
2009-07-11 20:33:07 UTC
Today I was watching a special on her, and I found it so interesting that no one has a stone set concept of what happened to her. I also though it was interesting that many years later a woman came out and said she was her, and then her face matched Earhart's perfectly with computers or something like that, and yet no one has made it official that it was her. First does anyone have any other information on this woman believed to be Amelia Earhart, and do you think she was really her? If not what do you think happened to her? Any opinions can be listed, thanks in advance =]

Earhart's plane was nowhere near the Bermuda Triangle. It was in the middle of the South Pacific when it vanished.

When she and Fred Noonan vanished, Earhart was searching for a tiny island in the middle of thousands of square of ocean. It would be like trying to find a chess board in the middle of a football field from five miles in the air.

The most logical assumption is she ran out of fuel and crashed somewhere in the South Pacific, which has some of the deepest trenches on the planet. If she sank, the Electra is likely to never be discovered.

She was swallowed up by the burmuda triangle and is probably in another demension by now. But see her plane wasn't the only aircraft to vanish at the burmuda triangle. Whole ships have vanished there, too, big boats, ect. All without a trace. There was nothing under was of the wreckage of any of these crafts, either.

They keep saying that the burmuda triangle is one of the only places on earth (or at least in the u.s.) where there was some kind of discrepency....I don't know. They said the radars of planes would get disrupted when flying over the bt.

They said there was an enormous amount of ENERGY coming from there but they could never pinpoint the source. Some say it's like some type of (I forget the exact word they used) door into another demendion of sorts. I know that sounds strange, but that's the legend.

The Burdmuda Triangle is also called the Devil's Triangle and they say there is nother one exactly on the other end of the world called the Dragon's triangle. However, new theories claim Earhart went down in the Pacific Ocean and not the Atlantic Ocean at all (whenre the triangle is located). But who really knows? Pretty scary urban legends, huh?

EDIT: CRICKET & PARROTJOHN, the only thing that stupid is that you didn't READ my ENTIRE post. I SAID, she went down in the PACIFIC! READ before calling something stupid. I gave the "urban legend" and other "speculation".

Her plane almost certainly crashed into the Pacific, the bodies and wreckage never being recovered.

Last month, a whole Airbus Jet liner went down in the Atlantic (a smaller ocean) and even with modern search techniques and automatic distress beacons, very little was recovered, and that search began at once.No one even knew Earhart was missing for some time.

Well, it would be odd if she were swallowed up by the Bermuda Triangle since that is in the Atlantic Ocean and she was flying over the Pacific Ocean.

No, flying was pretty primitive back then. She probably just got lost, had mechanical trouble, ran into weather or ran out of fuel.

It is not unusual to never find the wreckage. The Pacific Ocean is vast, the search techniques were primitive and if she was off course only God knows where she went down.

There are all kinds of theories but they remain just that, theories.

no longer a great gamble, Amelia Earhart crashed interior the Pacific ocean whilst her airplane ran out of gasoline. She have been sending radio transmissions and circling searching for land all the on a similar time as she replaced into asserting that she replaced into working low on gasoline. Her final transmission all of sudden ended whilst she crashed and died. regrettably for her she replaced into no longer experienced at utilising the radio so she replaced into waiting to deliver transmissions yet no longer acquire them that's why her transmissions have been heard yet no one replaced into waiting to talk along with her. it rather is totally sparkling what happened to her yet some human beings think of that through fact the airplane has no longer been got here across that she could have survived yet those human beings do no longer evaluate basically how vast an ocean is once you're searching for a small airplane that's on the backside.

there are the same amount of crashes in all parts of the ocean as there are in the Bermuda Triangle, what a stupid idea that is. Other dimensions? Spirit energy? Yes, that's much more likely than crashing in the ocean, a place 3 times the size of all landmass, and thousands of feet deep...

I believe she flew over the Pacific and crash landed somewhere in the Pacific. If she had survived the plane crash she might have been later tortured by the Japanese who occupied the area and hated Americans in WWII.

She was shot down by enemy planes and in order to maintain peace, the story was kept quiet, and stated that she disappeared
