Facetious answer: Tony Bliar governed stone-cold sober and look at the $hit that idiot got us into. Maybe if he'd been a gifted drunk.....

Historical answer: Winston Churchill was by no means liberal and was quite a long way down the right-wing spectrum. He'd have agreed on a lot with Hitler: Churchill sent troops in to shoot on striking miners in 1912 and ordered 12 people murdered during a miners' strike. After all, the smelly white working classes were only a step up above smelly natives: Churchill had the Army machine-gun a thousand or so of those at Amritsar in India for the same reason, to remind them who was in charge.

It was revealed this weekend that he valued animals a long way above people - the papers published newly released official papers to demonstrte that he loved animals so much he ordered scarce shipping space be diverted to bringing back thousands of otherwise stranded military horses back from France. Fair enough, but the suspicion is that this was diverted from taking black soldiers home to Africa and the West Indies - black squaddies ranking a lot lower than valuable horses....

Hitler certainly knew how to rant and rave, right to the bitter end.

On the other hand, while it is true, Winston's mother was American, it is also true that Winston was one of the last Romantic Zionists who wanted very much to establish a homeland for the Jews in the Holy Land - Israel.

But as we all know, the Germans have Hitler forever and we, the British and the Americans have a shared hero in Winston Churchill.

When I was born Winston was our Prime Minister. When he died I was at his funeral.

No matter what Winston was doing, including two bottles of Champagne at dinner most evenings, and sucking on Havana cigars all the time, he did at least manage to get to about 90/91 - not bad.

Well, Churchill did have an American Mother.

Churchill drank what most people would call "a lot", but I don't know if he was a drunk. I don't think so. A drunk needs to drink and usually cannot function properly in public without it.

He wasn't overly influenced by Jews, nor was he part Jewish himself.

Although Hitler seemed to like him (when he thought that he could influence him to keep Britain out of the war) Hitler also seemed to turn bitter toward anyone who didn't come up to "his" desires.

Well to Hitler the Americans were racialy impure and decadent - so it was an insult. Chrurchill most certainly was half American.

He drank to excess, was an adulterer (not known widely at the time).

Jew ridden no - he had Jews in the Cabinet and as friends, Jews were (and are) part of the British population but there is no evidence that Churchill was unduly influenced by Jews.

Hitler had nothing but the highest respect for British leader Winston Churchill. The two men actually came very close to meeting before Hitler came to power in 1933 but Hitler had to attend to an urgent matter.

The Germans did not want war with the British but underestmated british and french resolve over Poland.

To say that Hitler called Winston Churchill 'jew ridden' and a 'half american drunkard' is complete garbage.

Id like for you to show proof of where you got that before you post on yahoo answers.

Churchill`s mother was `Jennie Jerome ` , the second daughter of Leonard Jerome .The early Jerome's were Huguenot Protestants who fled France and settled in England , one of them was burned at the stake in 1540 , his descendants sailed to America .The first Jerome to become an American was an Englishman named Timothy in 1710 . Churchill`s mother therefore was American but in a strange completion of the circle , returned to become an Englishwoman. Jennie married Churchill's father Sir Randolph Churchill in Paris on April 15 , 1874., Churchill by this liaison was half American .

Churchill was known for his hard drinking , and though he made many mistakes , particularly interfering in military matters , drink was not responsible for clouding his judgment at times .

Churchill was the `Man of the Moment ` for Britain during the war years , and was popular with the general public , not quite so popular with some military figures and politicians.

The " Jew ridden " taunt was a reference to some of Churchill`s close advisers and political circle who were Jewish .

Perhaps if he was sober we would have lost the war,I have never heard that he was "Jew Ridden" He was brought up in the old school of gentlemen, there were never rude, or nanny would be upset.A drunk h was and there are many anecdotes.two off the cuff. Bessie Braddock ,a lady MP a formidable stout not to be messed about with, quite plain looking lady said to him Winston you are drunk.he replied Bessie you are ugly, but I'll be sober in the morning. The other one, Lady Nancy Astor, first woman in Parliament said to him Winston your fly is open.He answered Do not fret, dear Nancy, a dead bird does not fall from the nest.

Hitler never said that and there is no evidence that Churchill was part Jewish it's more of a rumour the same as the "Hitler was part Jewish" myth has been going around for decades, both not true.
