I'm writing a story and to spice it up I have heard that there were Nazi landings throughout the UK during the war but I don't know anything else about them. I have an old professor living in a house full of historical artifacts in the middle of nowhere. Unknown to the nazis he has a few kids living with him who certainly know how to fight them off or at the very least outsmart them.
I need to know more about the Nazi landings to find out if this is possible or if not. If not any ideas for what would work?
Thanks

There were sporadic landings of spies, but no concerted invasion. But if you want a pretext, just say that a German submarine was damaged and was able to make landfall in Britain before it sank. Just say the crew abandoned ship a few miles off the coast -- problem solved.

Nazis were members of a political party, not the German people nor the German military. With that said, no - other than plans, rumors and myth - there was no German landings anywhere across the UK with the exception of the Channel Islands.

German landings do makeup some famous novels and movies about the war though. 'The Eagle Has Landed' is probably the most famous one, and a German "landing" also plays a part in the Dad's Army movie and several episodes of the television show (U-Boat crew escape and attempt to take the unit hostage, and in the movie three downed Luftwaffe pilots hold several townsfolk hostage in a church before the men of the Home Guard save the day).

No landings by Germans on the UK mainland in WW2 - GB counter-intelligence even managed to round up all the German spies that were parachuted in,and turn them into double agents.

If you want ideas for your story, watch the 1942 British movie 'Went the Day Well?' which your idea seems suspiciously close to the plot of.There's also a sequence in Disney's 1971 movie 'Bedknobs and Broomsticks' which closely mirrors your idea.

So,not such an original storyline,it would seem.

The Nazis never really landed (They landed spies etc but no real force) There were plans to invade called Operation Sealion - though it was never carried out..

Perhaps research this operation and do an alternative history book about what could of been.. Or you could use elements from the invasion plan and incorp it into your story..
