What do you see? Girls. Who identify with the above ethnic groups. Some young girls, some slightly older. Most are "normal" looking. Just about ALL of them are contemporary images, since African American, Asian American, and Irish American girls all are recognized in this country for who they are.

Count how many images have a young woman or girl, from this century, dressed in every-day clothes, that are not actually hispanic or south american, or from India? I counted 3 out of the first 100 images.



This tells me that just about everything America THINKS they know about me, and girls who are like me...is a stereotype. We are invisible to the American populace. What you see in that Google image search is what the vast majority of Americans associate with "native Americans".

Where are they in the google searches? THESE are our people...yet America doesn't recognize us for what we are. We are the MOST stereotyped people on the friggin' planet.



Your assignment could be the easiest one I have ever heard of. Pick ANY image there on google. And I will tell what is stereotypical about it.
