The descendants of the Ancient Egyptians are found in the southern and rural areas now. The Copts are Egyptians too, but the result of mixing with Persians, Greeks, Assyrians, etc. Those who escaped the invading armies regrouped in the south. They are still there to this day.

The guy over me is completely mistaken. The Egyptians were not different races. They [native Egyptians] were one race and they mixed with others over time. And they only recognized 4 groups of men in their drawing and arts. 1st the Egyptian, 2nd the non-Egyptian African (Both are empirically African), 3rd the Asian, and Last, the European as displayed in many of their temples, according to the father of Egyptology, Champollion the Younger.

Also, the father of History, Herodotus gives an eye-witness account they they are like all true African, with black skin and wolly hair.

Constantin De Volney, a celebrated historian, gave eye-witness account of the differences between the modern Copts and the Ancients. His account of the Sphinx was that it was a memorial to the African/Negro head, testifying of its maker, the people of the Nile (before it's defacing by Napoleon).

Hammurae- Actually, they had more in common with the Africans than any other group. They were matriarchal. Their language was the same as many other African languages in it's oldest form. And as far as black Mummies. Listen to what one of the fathers of the non-African myth (Marius Fontanes) has to say in "Les Egyptes," 1880.

"The Basharin are exactly of the same brick-red shade used on Egyptian monuments. To other ethnographers, these 'red men' would probably be Ethiopians modified by time and climate, or perhaps Negroes who have reached the halfway mark in the evolution from blackness to whiteness. It has been noted that, in limestone areas, the Negro is less black than in granitic and plutonic regions. It has even been thought that the hue changed with the season. Thus, the Nubians were former blacks, but only in skin color, while their osteology has remained absolutely Negritic

The Negroes represented on Pharaonic paintings... Lepsius's canon gives... the proportions of the perfect Egyptians body; it has short arms and is Negroid or Negritian. From the anthropological point of view... the ancient Egyptians were Negroes, but Negroes to the last degree."

According to the 19th century author, the bone structures of the Egyptian corpses were Negro. But they had fine hair. Volney even made claims that he possessed 100 skulls to prove the African origin of Egypt, for anyone to contest. No contests have been reported. You don't even realize that the people who created the doctrines of these mixed breeds are the same people who taught they were black-skinned whites, lol. Above is an example, "the Nubians were former blacks, but only in skin color, while their osteology has remained absolutely Negritic."

Or in other words, They were formerly black in skin color alone, but their bone structure and make up remained black. Their bones are black, their skin is black, but they are not. You don't even know the arguments that have created the doctrine you believe. That's truly sad.

GREAT QUESTION!

Some are. The Coptic Christians of Egypt are DIRECT descendants of the Ancient Egyptians, they have no Arab blood in their veins.

Before the Islamic conquest there were few or no Arabs in Egypt, and it was a Christian country(This is also true of Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria & Morocco). Once the Arabs/Muslims arrived, there was no more conversion to Christianity, thus it follows that those Christians there today, are from the PRE Arab population of Egypt.

The Coptic Egyptians also keep a version of the Ancient Egyptian Language alive for religious ceremonies, and they have their owen WRITTEN script also. Some also give their children Ancient Egyptian first names.

In some countries Egyptian Copts are regarded as a distinct ethnic group, and most see themselves as direct descendants of ancient Egypt.

Its harder with the Muslim population, some are of Ancient Egyptian blood, but many have been mixed with Arabs over the last 1400 years.

The Assyrians of Iraq are also descendants of the Ancient Assyrians/Babylonians, Syriac Christians in Syria are direct descendants of the Arameans and Maronites in Lebanon are from the Phoenicians.

So there are some people in the region that are not actually Arabs, contrary to popular impression, and some ancient languages like Aramaic still survive also.

Shlama!

PS; There is a large Coptic population in the town i live in, and they certainly feel they are! They also feel many of the muslims are not 100% Egyptian.

PPS, I am also from a pre Arab people, the Assyrians.

The Copts definately are. The muslim egyptians are more of a mix, particularly with Arabs.

You do hear some rubbish sometimes claiming the Egyptians were black africans.....but they didnt speak a sub saharan language, their culture and religious beliefs had nothing in common with black africa, and none of the mumified bodies ever discovered have been of black african type.

Actually, most of the non muslim people of the middle east are descendants of the ancient inhabitants of the area. That goes for Christians, Jews and Mandeans living in Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Israel, Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, Malta etc etc...The only exception being in the Palestinian territories and the Arabian peninsula, they are real full blooded Arabs, regardless of religion.

No. the main uncomplicated mixture is those with Turkish and Hamitic(interior of sight Egyptian), after that it is Hamitic and Arab. by skill of mixture although I propose somebody would desire to have had a Turkish grandmother or grandfather or a interior of sight egyptian back interior the day married an Arab who settled in Egypt. There at the instant are not many Blacks right here to mixture with anyhow. we've Libya to the west that's Arabs and Berbers. Arabs have there look and Berbers usualy look eu. South you have Sudan yet they seem to be a techniques faraway from the place maximum human beings stay in view that Egypt is frequently barren area. North is the sea and East is Israel . So no the place close to Blacks.

Many of the people of Egypt today are indeed the direct descendants of the Egyptians of the ancient past.

The most likely source of such folk is the Coptic Church of Egypt [Jesus Christ in Egypt] who still use the ancient language of the Pharoes.

Even in Pharaonic times in ancient Egypt, the population was not all one race. I think there were five distinct and recognised races in Egypt back then. Today the race mix is broader and includes such as Arab blood.

Egyptians of whatever race are justly proud of their magnificent heritage and history - the world's first.

Here's a test to find out.

Give them a bunch of big stones and ask them to build a pyramid.

If it's not all trianglely and pointy at the top when they're done then they aren't direct descendants.

Scientific - I am sure you will agree.
